This is our 2nd time stopping here. The water is mossy but it is a beautiful place. We walked all the way around and learned about every post. Very educational and peaceful.
We really enjoyed this park. It was so beautiful and also the caboose with the history. It was very interesting. Also this was free and they do accept donations. There is also a very nice souvenir shop. We enjoyed it very much and even had a picnic down by the water.
Absolutely awesome place to visit! The scenery was absolutely beautiful. There’s a gift shop with a variety of snacks and novelties. You can fish or go swimming on the property. Definitely recommend if you’re in the area! And it’s a free experience!
Watch your step! This gem was a perfect place to stop, stretch our legs, and get s I me fresh air after we drove across Missouri. There is a lot of geese poop on the side walks, but it’s maneuverable. We saw two beautiful common water snakes running themselves. The walk around the park is short and perfect if you’re just passing through. I recommend stopping and seeing the natives.
Outstanding stop on highway for a short walk by the lake, a welcome by friendly staff, connecting with local/state of Arkansas resources, and enjpying a free cup of coffee.
Excellent place to catch your breath/stretch your legs on a road trip, and admire beautiful scenery of Arkansas – the natural state. On-site is the local power site equipment and generator machinery from days gone by that visitors can tour and read about for free.
We enjoyed sitting by the waterfall/dam and walking by the lake. We were delighted to see a turtle on its way to the lakeside. Peaceful and quiet, and just off the road which makes it a quick stop if that’s what you need. There’s a variety of concessions and fun items inside for sale. Also many signs about the history of the area, the natural spring on-site, and the old war cannon on display outside.
On Saturday May 10th, it was some area appreciation/state park visitor celebration, so the staff was offering free hot dogs, burgers, snacks and drinks along with free raffles and giveaways, but we were unable to stay for this grand event, though the friendly staff welcomed us to join and invite anyone we knew.
We’ll make this gem a regular stop for our travels through Northern Arkansas.
