Located within Trafton Park, Trafton Dog Park is a well-loved spot for dog owners seeking a dog park in Malden, Massachusetts. This popular pet-friendly area features a spacious off-leash section with peastone ground cover, a large rock mound for climbing, and plenty of shade for both dogs and their humans. Known as the only dog park in Malden, it draws a friendly community, making it ideal for socialization and exercise around the park and surrounding neighborhood.
The park is equipped with benches, a new water pump, lighting for year-round evening visits (open until 9 PM), and essential amenities like doggie bags and waste stations. However, parking can be a challenge during park renovations, so plan your visit accordingly. Despite some maintenance concerns, Trafton Dog Park remains a lively, accessible, and welcoming spot for local pups and owners alike.
Decent dog park. Unfortunately it’s not well maintained. Due to immature teens, shattered beer bottles are scattered everywhere.
Great space for my dog , water clean but need more doggie bags
Great group of people & their dogs; my dog & I drive over daily as part of our routine/socialization/exercise around the dog park & the general park/neighborhood afterwards.
My Lucy and I love this Dog Park! The dogs love climbing up on the rocks and there’s plenty of shade for them to cool off.
The park has a new water pump, new benches and folks really love that. Unfortunately, the new stones seem to be a problem for many dogs. They are very small and do get caught in paws.
As the only Dog Park in Malden, it’s a very happy place 😄
This is an interesting dog park. The main area is peastone, but there is a large rock pile/mound at the back of the space that the dogs can climb.
Water, bags, trash are all there and park lighting has the dog park open til 9, year round.
Trafton park itself is under renovation, which means that getting to the dog park is difficult if you’re driving as there is no parking on the street with the main entrance, and the back entrance is blocked.
