FAQ for North Star Dog Park in Madison Wisconsin:
Smaller rectangle fenstin dog park has dog bags as garbage can no bathroom. Next to water tower and a nice park.
Nice park, the people are not the nicest but they clean up behind themselves
Smaller than other dog parks in the area, but still a decent size. There really isn’t much in the way of amenities like a picnic table or a porta poddy. Poop bags were available and a garbage can to put them in. The biggest issue is the amount of poop all around the park. Some very irresponsible dog owners clearly frequent this park.
I was impressed at how many of our fur friends were out today. The park was a quaint jog. Not huge, just enough for a few laps and a leg stretch though. The unimpressive part were all the poop bombs. This littler park alone had more bombs than any large park! Shame on you irresponsible dog owners. This alone will keep us from returning. This is a city of Madison park. There is a fee to use the park. I’m not saying the city of Madison should be responsible for irresponsible dog owners. However, this is a paid for exercise Park that should be maintained.
This is our absolute favorite dog park in Madison!Such a beautiful path along the water, with lots of room to explore and run free!Lucy and Stella would give it 10 stars each if they could!
Great dog park. Lots of shaded wooded areas and multiple spots for your dog to take a dip in the water. You can check the Madison Parks website for algae status. There is a smaller area for small/geriatric dogs.
North Star Dog Park is a nice large grassy open space to get those zoomies and sniff curiosities out. It’s about 0.3 miles around, with a little worn walking path around the fence line. There’s not a lot to explore compared to other parks, but it does the trick if you just need a place to let your dog run, sniff, or play. There’s only one picnic table, and it’s mounted abnormally high, so it’s not very accessible to everyone. I’m tall with long legs and I have difficulty comfortably sitting at it. However, they just recently provided 2 plastic outdoor chairs, so hopefully they stay there and get replaced if they ever break. There’s no water source, so bring your own. Like all dog parks, poop bags are provided. The park is right next to North Star Park and is accessible with fence doors in 3 places. Owners that I’ve encountered here are very respectful and I’ve never seen a dog fight at this park. Overall I would recommend this park!
We LOVE this place 🙂 best park in town! All the fun wildlife viewing, excellent birding, beavers, and puppies! Great mix of lawn for running, woods with trails, and water to cool off in on hot summer days.
