Giralda Farms in Madison, NJ, is a picturesque and expansive park known for its lovely views, mature trees, and wide open spaces. This dog-friendly destination offers a roughly 1.5 mile oval walking trail (unpaved) that circles a large, grassy lawn where local dog owners often bring their pets for play and exercise. While not officially designated as a fenced dog park, the center lawn is a popular spot for responsible off-leash fun, provided dogs are well-behaved and under owner supervision. The area is shared by walkers, runners, and even equestrians, so courteous interactions are valued.
Visitors to Giralda Farms enjoy abundant parking, clean portapotties, and a tranquil natural setting that feels far removed from the busy pace of nearby towns. Amenities include benches, picnic tables, modern restrooms, and a playground for children. Pet owners will also appreciate the access to beautiful walking and hiking trails suitable for all ages—including paved, wheelchair-friendly paths and unique pet-friendly hiking experiences. The park’s proximity to Loantaka Brook Reservation means visitors can extend their outing with additional trails, streams, and scenic views for both people and pups.

Just ran the 5k here. Truly beautiful views and great trails. All set up for the runners with water, food, and time tracking.

Across Woodland Avenue from the main entrance Loantaka Brook Reservation, this is nice unpaved, roughly 1.5 mile oval path that takes walkers past some beautiful mature trees, including a number of male ginko trees. The center of the oval is a lawn with a few trees, which is sometimes the playground for unleashed dogs and their guardians. The dogs are usually not a problem but every once in a while a poorly trained dog will break loose and jump on passers by or charge other dogs. Bad dog!! Bad owner!!
