Red Oaks Dog Park offers one of the best dog-friendly experiences in the metro Detroit area. Located at 31353 Dequindre Rd, Madison Heights, this spacious dog park is especially attractive for non-residents, as it allows anyone to purchase a daily or seasonal pass. The facility is well-maintained and features four large, fenced, pasture-style enclosures, giving dogs plenty of room to run, play, and socialize off-leash. There’s also a dedicated small dog run, ensuring safety and comfort for dogs of all sizes.
Visitors appreciate the park’s accessible design with wheelchair-friendly entrances and parking lots, as well as amenities like covered picnic table areas and seating. Dog owners regularly mention the friendly community vibe and the variety of dogs present. While the park offers some shade and covered areas, visitors have noted that on hot days the shade could be improved. Red Oaks is a go-to dog park in Madison Heights for anyone seeking pet-friendly trails, socialization, and open green spaces for their furry friends.
One of the few dog parks in the metro area that lets you pay for a pass without being a resident of that particular town. Love taking my pup here! She loves it too – 3 runs open for her to chase balls and socialize.
No fee for admission or parking and a great group of people. Can’t ask for more!
This dog park is full of tail wags! The park is fairly simple with four pasture-type enclosures for dogs to have fun. There is even a specific, small dog run but dogs of all sizes are welcome in the other runs. There is often tennis balls to throw and chase but really the fun is in chasing each other! Always a sniffing-good time!!
My dog loves an open space and to play with other dogs! This park always has a variety of dogs and owners who are watching their dog. I wish there was more shade.
Great open space. Covered picnic table area. Pretty flat and well maintained. I wish people would stop bringing balls/toys into the park because it is really distracting for my dog and potentially dangerous if other dogs resource guard (also against the stated rules) 😕
