Mill Creek Dog Park is a popular destination for dog owners in Madison, Alabama, offering a spacious environment with both a large dog area and a small dog section tailored for pups under 25 pounds. The park features a creek where dogs can splash and play, and offers pet-friendly trails ideal for dog-friendly hiking and walking. Accessibility is a highlight, with a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking lot, making it easy for all visitors to enjoy the park.
This dog park provides many conveniences, including plenty of seating for owners, a water hose in both dog sections (seasonally available), and shaded areas to relax during warmer weather. Although the park is sometimes under construction or affected by rain, it stands out as a welcoming place for both dogs and families, with kid-friendly hikes and room for pets to roam off-leash in designated, fenced spaces. Visitors enjoy the natural atmosphere, but should be aware of occasional muddy conditions and natural wildlife, including snakes near the creek.
Nice walk and has two different dog parks one for small dogs and the other for the big ones also has water hose in both so you can spray them down there was a swimming pool in them also my fur baby’s love it here #🐕#❤
It rain quite a bit recently and the park had a layer of water.
There are two areas, one for dogs 25lbs and up and one for smaller pups.
Nothing stands out but there is plenty of seating and good space.
The area feels unfinished. The walkways to get to the park can be confusing and it would be nicer if there was run off water management.
The park was empty while we were there. But It was nice. Previous visitors had left toys to play with. There is work being done on the fence that divides the areas for large and small dogs. The water was not on. I’m assuming that’s because it hasn’t gotten hot out yet. I love the creek that runs alongside the park. My dog had fun splashing around in it. BEWARE OF SNAKES!!! We saw a VERY LARGE SNAKE in the brush along the creek. We actually thought it might be some roots or branches of a tree. My son tossed a rock in its direction to point it out to me and it went into the water! We were both shocked because it was huge like a tree branch. It won’t stop us from getting in the water when it’s warm, but keep your eyes open so your dogs stay safe. I think it will be a great dog park to visit when the weather is right.
Great place! Nice breeze and wonderful for dogs. Played today in the 25lb and under section dogs had fun.
Nice big area for dogs, parking is not friendly for people who have had hard time walking. They were doing construction, but the fence should have been put back up before the grass seed. Waste of taxpayers’ money.
