Wife and I came here for the first time for a walk around the lake and it was a great time!. The small beach area (free) seemed like a great place to lay bring the family and the path around the lake (about 1.7 miles) was shady and fairly easy. Not too crowded and clean.
Lake Arrowhead is a beautiful park in Luray. Easy water access, clean shelters, and lots of grass. Restrooms are well-maintained, as are the streets and parking areas. There’s a loop trail around the lake, which makes for a great hike. (The trail narrows and contains a few rocky spots on the north portion.)
The beach has been completely removed. The water is fenced off. There are multiple signs stating if you enter the water, you will be banned from entering the park and it is being monitored 24/7. Absolutely NO swimming or BBQing allowed.
Nice park near Luray. People can walk, sit and have lunches and also fish. Restroom does not have water faucet and soap; it would be great to have water to wash hand after using the restroom. We didn’t use it since there was no water. 4 stars for that, otherwise, it would be 5 stars.
Nice charming spot!
