This is a large park with lots of walking trails. It has multiple areas with play equipment for the kids and a few shelters with tables. We normally go for the dog park. It’s back on a trail and is never crowded. Most times we have been there no other dogs were in the enclosed area.
A few times recently we have gone to Symmes for the dog park and it was unexpectedly closed. It’s disappointing because it is a drive from our house and then a walk back to the dog area. The open/closed sign in the trail isn’t always accurate.
This park is impressively well kept, despite the damage caused by weather and some of the guests. There seems to be same group of families enjoying the park but leaving behind trash, letting little kids run in the parking lot, etc. My dog keeps finding chicken, lamb and fish bones left behind, I wish the management would consider giving citations/warnings.
However, the staff is amazing. A pleasant young man named Colton will greet you on weekdays, you will see him emptying the trash cans and cleaning all the shelters. I have met several other polite and hard working staff members there but I’m bad with names. They even blow the leaves on the trails!
There are several playgrounds in the park that we’ve seen get updated over the years. There are several 1-2 mile trails with beautiful hills and creeks.
Place is very small for a park but has a few things for the kids to play on and has a nice pond area where people come to fish. If you like quiet and small this is for you. More likely won’t go back because we enjoy bigger play areas but it was just a place we passed on the way home
Well maintained park that includes a pond, basketball court, playground, paved walking trails, benches on the walking trails, a dog park, and covered picnic shelters. There is also plenty of parking.
This was our first time visiting this park. It has some really nice paved hiking paths that are pedestrian and pet friendly. There are a lot of recreational fields and picnic shelters. The trails follow the field perimeter as well as deep woods and streams. Plenty of play areas for children. Enjoy this gem.
