Old Louisville Dog Run (Members Only): Secure Dog Park in Louisville, Kentucky

Old Louisville Dog Run is a secure, members-only dog park located at 1215 S Brook St, right in the heart of Louisville, Kentucky. Designed for urban dogs and their owners seeking a convenient, safe, and fenced space, this dog park offers a simple environment where pups can enjoy off-leash freedom in the city. Please note that a membership, which requires proof of vaccinations and is valid for several LDRA parks in Louisville, is mandatory for access.

The park features two small, fenced-in runs – one of which is an old tennis court with a concrete surface. Seating is limited to a couple of benches, and the park does not currently offer much in the way of shade or covered shelter. While some visitors note the park is less maintained compared to other local options, it remains an accessible space for local dogs to exercise off-leash. This dog park is especially suited for those living nearby who want a quick and safe spot to let their pets play.

The least of my favorite dog parks in Louisville. The key fob reader is broken and upon entering I noticed that the park was super small. There were also a few seating because I saw that the park only had 2 benches. I’ll go here because it’s convenient to where I live however I wish the organization that I paid to become a member of does better to improve the amenities here.

I love a nice clean dog park dogs need a nice place to walk and run around and play just like a kids park. Most people dogs are like our kids we would like our kids being a clean park. I want the same for my four legged pets. I didn’t even know this dog park existed I guess it is one the less used parks. People also want to be in a safe environment I know I do whether I’m walking my dog walking myself I want to be safe and comfortable doing so.

Compared to the other parks from this group, it’s pretty small. However, it’s walking distance and, living in the city, it’s a fenced in area I can take my dog to and let her get her exercise. Never had any problems with any other dogs here.

Went to the Springfest and the experience was worth it.the park is big and kid friendly. Lots of food truck options and vendors as well.

Haven’t been to this particular LDRA park in 2½ years. Decided to try it, hoping it had improved. It’s two, small, square lots that are separated by a small field. One of the runs is just an old tennis court that’s entirely concrete with a fence running down the middle of it. That run has two benches and obviously no trees. The other run has had a busted lock every time I’ve ever been, and can’t even be shut. The inner gate has no latch, so when I walked up both gates were wide open and couldn’t be kept closed. This run also has no trees, no gazebos (like all the other LDRA parks), etc. The only way to even get to this dog park is down an alley that has mattresses and broken stuff all over the ground. We won’t bother trying this one again.

Note to all those surprised to find this is a membership only park – all dog parks in Louisville except Morton Ave require a membership. It is a very cheap membership that requires proof of vaccinations. This keeps your dog safer for a pretty cheap price. It also pays for upkeep and maintenance on the parks – though clearly not on this particular park. The membership is good for all the others in the system, which are significantly better than this one.
