Morton Avenue Dog Park is one of the top dog-friendly places in Louisville, offering pet owners a fun and lively off-leash space to let their pups play and socialize. Located at 1548 Morton Ave, this volunteer-run park is known for its welcoming community, shaded seating areas, and excellent security fencing. While the ground is mostly dirt (not grass), it’s a good-sized park where dogs can burn off energy and make new friends. Dog owners frequently mention how friendly and mindful others are, making it a relaxing spot for both dogs and owners.
Perfect for families, Morton Avenue Dog Park also features a nearby children’s playground, allowing parents to watch both their kids and dogs at the same time. The park is free to use, and visitors are encouraged to help keep it tidy, with many bringing their own water or picking up after their pets. Whether you’re a local or just visiting Louisville and need a dog-friendly spot, Morton Avenue Dog Park is an excellent choice with strong community vibes and plenty of space to roam.
I really like the park and my dog loves it. Whenever they are other dog owners they mostly look after their dog too and take care that they don’t play too rough with your dog. The only downside is that it’s a little messy since the ground is not grass.
This is our dog’s absolute favorite place to go and we go every weekend. We started taking him as a puppy when he got all his shots. It’s a fantastic place to take your dog for them to socialize. It is volunteer-run, so everyone is encouraged to contribute. The volunteer that does most of the care is Alan. He’s very friendly and does an amazing job keeping the park organized and clean. Ziggy makes friends almost every time we go. He loves it! There’s also a playground connected to it so you can watch your kiddos and your doggos.
It’s a free dog park so you get what you pay for. It’s a good size with shaded areas and seating. No grass, tho. Nothing but dirt. The kids play area is a plus and security fencing is great for keeping the dogs in during entering and exiting.
It is a free park so everyone that uses it is expected to help maintain it. You can pick up trash, torn toys and throw them away. Or when there is mulch you can spread. Fill a jug or two with water. I bring a gallon of water of usually so I can share it. My dogs enjoy it.
Awesome park with friendly dogs and humans! Thank you, Louisville!
I wanted to let Tux stretch his legs after being cramped up in a car and hotel room for most of 24 hours! This park did not disappoint! Many thanks! 💯 I would recommend this dog park.
