Ben Washer Park, located at 519 W Kentucky St in Louisville, Kentucky, is a small community park known for its intimate atmosphere, mature shade trees, and comfortable setting for quick outings. While not a dedicated dog park, this spot welcomes nearby residents and pet-owners looking for a relaxed outdoor experience within the city. Although it’s more commonly used for families and picnics, the park’s tree cover and benches create a welcoming environment for both pets and their owners searching for some shade or a casual stroll.
The park features a playground and open areas that could accommodate leashed dogs for a brief walk, though amenities specific to dogs like fenced enclosures or dedicated off-leash sections are not present. Ben Washer Park is also popular among parents of young children due to its playground, swings, and gazebo, making it a multi-use location. It’s perfect for people looking for a relaxing spot to chill under the trees, enjoy a picnic, or let kids play close by while the family dog tags along for the outing.

I work at a private school and We took the kids to the park today. Ugh that park… The squatters took up residence there. So all you see is tents, clothes, grocery baskets etc. The playground area is okay. The kids enjoyed themselves. (We were not by the squatters) I don’t plan on going back…..
