Hermon Park, also known as Arroyo Seco Park, offers a unique dog park experience amidst lush surroundings that will make you forget you’re in the heart of Los Angeles! With scenic views and a variety of trails suitable for both relaxed walks and challenging hikes, this dog-friendly park gives locals and visitors a chance to reconnect with nature while spending quality time with their pets. The park’s open spaces and pet-friendly hiking options make it a standout spot for dog owners in LA.
While Hermon Park features incredible natural beauty and plenty of space for dogs to play, visitors should be mindful that it can get a bit crowded at times, and parking may be tricky, especially on weekends. Some areas of the park may not be as clean due to visitors not always picking up after their dogs, so bringing your own supplies is recommended. Despite these occasional drawbacks, Hermon Park remains a favorite for its scenic views, pet-friendly atmosphere, and accessible trails just minutes from downtown Los Angeles.

Most of the owners are there to chat and not keep an eye on their dogs, and because they are distracted, they don’t pick up after dog…
I have gone a few times in the evenings, not too crowded. I’m not sure if it’s always the same.

Ive been coming since the 70s. I’ve seen the changes and I like them. There used to be lots of drugs and alcohol going on. It was dangerous and scary sometimes, gang violence and killing. It’s all cleaned up now and it’s a whole new atmosphere. I got some great pictures last time I was there.

Beautiful space, and cool venue for large shows. Unfortunately, large shows mean lots and lots of the general public. The general public don’t know how to behave themselves when out in these spaces. They drink too much, and don’t take care of themselves or anyone around them.

Awesome open space right beside the rose bowl. Good for either a music festival or golf. Staff are nice and chill. Could use a bit more trees for shade though.
