🐾 How to Handle Aggressive Dogs at the Dog Park – Real Advice from Dog Owners
Visiting the dog park can be a joyful activity for both you and your furry friend—but aggressive encounters can quickly […]
Jackson Street Dog Park is a small, community-oriented dog park in Long Beach, CA located at the intersection of Rose Ave & E Jackson St. This pet-friendly space offers a relaxed environment for your dog to run and socialize, with sand covering the play area and a blend of natural elements like rocks and logs. The park is a great option for local residents looking for a convenient spot to exercise their furry friends.
Amenities at Jackson Street Dog Park include benches and logs for seating, waste bags for easy cleanup, and a water fountain (located just outside the fenced area for canine hydration). While the park is fully fenced and wheelchair accessible, visitors should note there is no separate area for small or large dogs, and the ground is primarily sandy without grassy patches. This compact Long Beach dog park offers a peaceful, low-key spot for dogs to play off-leash, but parkgoers should stay alert for occasional maintenance issues and be mindful of pet waste.
It was very small, its more for the ppl who live there then the greater public. There is no separation of dog size and there was a spiny part of a plant that poked my dogs paw. The dog water fountain for dogs was outside, usually they are inside the park.
The park looks like it isn’t getting any maintenance/upkeep. There is trash/cigarette butts on the floor. It’s a nice space to let you dog run around and socialize. The water fountain is outside the fence which I think is off. You have to take your dog outside to give him/her a drink while he/she is playing.
Our first time here. It’s a small quiet park, good to have some alone time while you’re dog does there thing
This space is really lovely, benches, rocks and logs are all clean. The sand makes it very easy to clean up any mess, but people just leave it for some reason….the size of the area is good but the compromise is the no small or big dog separator.
It’s a small park, but enough room for a few dogs to run around. It’s only sand and a couple rocks, no grass patches. My only complaint about it is the fact that people don’t seem to know how to clean up after their dogs…bags are even provided so I don’t understand what’s so hard about picking up afterwards…there was so much poop there that you had to constantly be careful where you stepped. The photo I took doesn’t even show the large piles behind me and beside me.
