Pretty decent hike, a lot of elevation, less touristy than other hikes in Hocking hills, just as phenominal.
An asolutely stunning trail!! Very busy no matter when you go so if you’re looking to escape people you won’t find that here, HOWEVER I still highly reccomend going just because of the beautiful and unique rock formations and water falls. The trail is well kept and is good for all ages and for dogs. I wore my Teva waterproof hiking sandals and was happy for it because wading around thigh deep in the water was blissful and rewarding because it was so hot! If you’re in the area go go go! You won’t be disappointed. This trail had some of the most beautiful features of any hike I’ve ever done.
Also it spins off of the Buckeye trail so you have the option for some longer hikes.
Very busy and beautiful! Stays fairly cool with the shade from the trees. We loved Old Man’s cave and Whispering Cave at the end. Not easy but for confident people you’ll do it with ease! Crowds definitely thin out after Old Man’s Cave and it’s much more enjoyable not having to wait around for people to take photos and block the path. We felt for all the signs, the trails were not clearly marked.
some beautiful falls to the left of the trail head, and of course, follow down to the beautiful “upper falls”
the prettiest most picturesque waterfall in hocking hills if you ask me. the water is a beautiful blue when its flowing well. magical spot. very very crowded. go early!
Beautiful, moderate hike. Definitely go early to beat the crowds. (Though once you get past Old Man’s Cave, it calms down significantly)
