Frequently Asked Questions

  • Where is the best place to park?

Yes, there are pet-friendly hiking trails starting at the parking area, winding through forest and around the lake.
  • Are there staff or rangers present at the park?
Friendly rangers are occasionally available, especially during popular camping weekends.
  • Are dogs allowed off-leash at this park?
The park is more of a natural, open hiking area rather than a traditional dog park, so leash requirements may vary. Please check for local signage or regulations regarding leash use.
  • Is the park regularly cleaned and maintained?
The park is a primitive, pack-in, pack-out location – visitors are required to take all trash with them to help keep the area clean.

People need to take their trash with them. This is one of the best primitive camping and day spots in the area but in the last few years people just leave piles of trash in the parking lot. It’s pack in pack out. This attracts animals and just ruins the fun. There is a trash dump as soon as you leave to the left and in town.

Completely intertwined with nature, you will hear eagles hunting on the horizon, snakes hunting fish in the water, and a variety of bird sounds that you cannot even imagine.

The roads to get here are horrific- many only 1 car width. And thanks to Ryan R., who mentioned last right turnoff onto gravel road for parking lot that doesn’t show on google maps. The park itself was absolutely wonderful- a good path, rocky but clear. Beautiful trees, interesting structures that I haven’t figured out yet, lots of insects and water life. If you can handle the drive, I highly recommend here😻
