FAQ for Livingston Parks in Livingston Louisiana:
I’ve been bringing my kiddos to this park since they were babies! I love the new playground equipment! I even got on the slide and the little Zipline myself! I haven’t done either of those since I was a teenager! No, I’m still bringing my teenagers here and my grandbabies!
As a long time resident of Livingston, and still currently living in the area I feel that we could improve upon this park vastly. As a father of two children under the age of four, I’m really disappointed that our last visit was as limited as it was. These issues may have been corrected by now, but honestly should not have ever been an issue to begin with. The fact that the smaller play area for younger children was boarded up, and taped off at the slide. This was definitely disheartening for them as I wouldn’t allow them on the larger play area due to the lack of visibility. The maintenance workers were there cutting grass, and the park looked great… From a distance. Officials are putting too much focus on the ball fields where we have seasonal events, but not our park where we can allow smaller/younger children an outlet. There is a great area on the north end of the park for an expansion, and I believe a basketball court would be a great addition. Denham was the only area that had one, and they removed the goals because they seen an opportunity to make money by charging for the fitness center. As a resident of Livingston, PARDS charges NULL a day to go shoot basketball in their facility. I see people searching for courts regularly on social media, and believe this too would be a great way to bring people in. I’m just saying, not everyone is a fan of baseball.I remember when this park was built I was already too old for it as an outlet. but I believe with some proper planning, and budgeting, this could be a better experience for the entire family.
Clean and well kept… you would never know there was a hurricane a week prior. awesome outdoors area covered and perfect for bday parties with the best swing set/play area in comparison to North Park or South Park
We love this park. It’s safe, well-kept for the most part (although the play area for little kids has been out of commission for a long time now) and I’m looking forward to the updates that are coming.
Never crowded, great community, clean grounds, good equipment, large pavilion with picnic tables. The bathrooms almost always need attention though. If you’re going to spend a long time here with your kids, pack a roll of toilet paper and a bar of soap, because they’re frequently out of those. Livingston has nice community events here. Great addition to our small town.
