If you’re searching for a spacious and well-kept dog park in Linthicum Heights, Maryland, Overlook Dog Park is a standout local option. This dog park offers a massive, grassy, and fully enclosed area, ideal for letting your furry friends run free and play safely off-leash. A former baseball field, it now features three large sections: two for bigger dogs and one dedicated to small breeds, ensuring a welcoming and secure environment for pups of all sizes.
Overlook Dog Park is prized for its cleanliness, attentive community of dog owners, and thoughtful amenities. You’ll find running water for dogs to stay hydrated, a porta potty for human visitors, and a stock of poop bags for easy cleanup. It’s wheelchair accessible, making it convenient for everyone. While the park is mostly open without much shade or covered areas, the lush grass and sturdy fencing guarantee a pleasant experience as long as you plan ahead for sunny days. Parking is available and free, right next to the park.
Huge area, very clean.
Big dog and small dog areas separated
Such a fun dog park. It’s an old baseball field that has been enclosed and divided into three sections. Huge open, flat grass space. Our beagle loves to run and this offers a great safe location that allows her to push her limits. The community is delightful with most dog owners being exceptionally attentive to their dogs. Never too busy. There isn’t shade, so be aware on hot summer days.
This is a very pleasant dog park. The dogs we met were all friendly, as were their people. The park has lots of room for the dogs to run. Big dogs and little dogs each have their own sections which helps keep the little dogs safe.
The park also had a reasonable supply of poop bags for the inevitable clean-ups. (I still noticed some poop on the ground that owners didn’t pick up, so watch your step.)
My only complaint is that holes dug by dogs were not filled in. The rules say it’s the owner’s responsibility to do this, but some dogs dig so fast, and scatter the dirt so far, that filling in the dirt isn’t possible. Some of the holes were deep enough that an unwary human could get hurt by not watching their step and falling into a hole.
Overall, though, this is a nice park and a great place to spend some off-leash time with your dog.
Today, we tried this dog park.
Pros:
Very large
Running water on site
Porta potty on site
Cons:
No trees
No shaded areas
The dogs enjoyed it, but there are no trees and no shade, so the dogs quickly overheated and we had to go. The grass is in great shape, thick and full. The fencing is in great shape as well. There are 3 sections: 2 sections for large dogs and 1 section for small dogs. All were very large. There was also a bathroom on site which was a big plus. Only giving 4 Stars because there are no shaded areas; no trees, no shaded tent or Pavillion.
Fantastic free dog park! Grass is in great condition. Very clean. Not much shade though.
