🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

If you’re looking for a top-rated dog park in Liberty, Missouri, Liberty Dog Park at Stocksdale Park Drive is a must-visit destination. This spacious, double-fenced dog park is thoughtfully designed to accommodate both large and small dogs with dedicated, gated play areas. There’s ample room for off-leash fun, while dog owners can relax knowing the space is safe, friendly, and well-maintained by a proactive community. You’ll find a unique toy basket (featuring a sharing-lending library for pet toys!), agility features for dogs to climb on, and easy access to lighted parking.
Liberty Dog Park goes beyond being just a pet-friendly spot: it’s part of a larger public park offering beautiful, dog-friendly hiking trails, picnic tables, children’s playgrounds, restrooms, and even a disc golf course. Dog water fountains are provided (seasonally), and covered seating offers relief for pet owners on sunny days. The park is wheelchair-accessible and well-loved for its community spirit, making it a perfect fit for dog lovers seeking outdoor fun in Liberty, MO.
Great space for the dogs to run around in, and they have a toy basket with toys for dogs. They are in constant need of fresh toys, toys get chewed up and destroyed. Everyone I meet there is very nice, and the dogs mostly behave themselves. Sometimes they are over excited, but calm down after a few minutes. There are dog water fountains in the dog park, but are turned off for the winter. They will be back on in the spring, so don’t forget to bring water!
This is a really fun dog park. To date, I’ve never had a bad experience with other dogs or owners here. Sure, people could pick up their pet’s poop more often, but I just watch my step and it’s fine. As you can see from the photos, my pups love the kiddie pool there!
Updating to 5 stars based upon ongoing great experiences at this park. While this is an off-leashed park, pet owners are engaged with their dogs instead of sitting with their faces buried in their phones or outright ignoring bad behavior. This is the only dog park that I have never felt unsafe for my two pups’ safety due to unruly and aggressive conduct by other dogs.
Liberty Dog park is great for big and small dogs.
There is a disc golf course as well
And we have a family reunion at the park just further up the drive way of the dog park.
Really great two areas fenced (big dogs and small dogs) water available and covered seating for humans. Fun things for the dogs to climb on and through.
Has vast lighted parking. And a cute giving library *like books but for animal things!
Highly recommend
