This park is huge and nicely maintained. It could definitely use some more shade trees but the last time I visited this park it was also during a heatwave. There is a nice mix of sport fields as well as paved walking trails.
There is a 2.4 mile trail around the perimeter of the park which I walk most mornings. When the grandkids come to visit, they love the playground.
This review is for the playground only. It was perfect for my 6 year old and tons of space to run around and play for the pile of kids that were there. No one on top of each other (except of course when they wanted to pile up). The music play areas was probably the best I have seen despite no one playing there… I had fun at least. Everything is in good mechanical shape and working well. The rest of the park looked nice too and a ton of people out walking but we stuck to the playground for this specific trip.
Easily southside Lexington’s premier park. I organize adult flag football leagues at well-maintained multipurpose athletic fields. There are also great walking / running trails in the park, and its a great place to take your dog for a walk!
Great park! Newly renovated, has an area for younger toddlers and another area close by for bigger kids with lots of cool things to climb on and explore. The swings are nice, some of them are tandem swings even. There’s a safe, wheelchair accessible merry-go-round. And there’s even a water area where kids can turn a wheel and water comes out and flows through canals.
This has been one of my favorite playgrounds, we will definitely come again!
