Beautiful park! I grew up playing at this park and it sure has changed since I played here but it is still a gorgeous area

I wish they had more playground equipment for children under 4. One of the playsetd is definitely not for small children, as you have to climb ropes to get up. The other one seems like it’s okay for them… until you go to climb on: the steps are way too high for people under 3.5 feet tall, and the bridges safety banisters may as well not be there, as they would not prevent anyone-especially a child under 6. They aren’t very coordinated. Still, I’m giving it 4 stars because it’s in a good neighborhood, is usually fairly empty (at least during schooldays), has bathrooms that are easy to find, and provides plenty of lawn to play on (& a small basketball court, as well as 2 tennis courts. Not too shabby for a small, neighborhood park.

But, for reals: whoever is choosing the playground equipment isn’t considering small children. The only thing they had was one swing that was the kind intended for toddlers when I was a kid, 40 years ago, and one that is much more modern that is MUCH safer: they can’t topple out of it if they lean forward or backwards. However, fear of heights is genetic, and they inherited it from several of our relatives… so, ¡gracias para nada!

Nice little park. Walk path was clean and well maintained. Pickle ball players were getting after it on the court. Playground seemed clean. Nice little park!

Great park to visit on a nice day! There is a nice play ground for kids to play on. There are all kinds of sports areas here, as well. For example, there is a full basketball court with 2 goals, a complete baseball field, 2 tennis courts, and even a track for people to walk/run/skateboard/bike/walk their dog. There is a water fountain that is surprisingly clean and cold. There are public restrooms that, while not spotless, were clean enough to not make you uncomfortable. There is plenty of space for parking. Overall, I say this is a really great, smaller park. I will definitely be back here!

Meadowthorpe Park, behind the park and receration building off Leestown Road has it all! From wide open spaces to do as you want; picnic or setup inflatables for a birthday parties — as I saw when I was there. There is also a full-size baseball diamond/field, 2 tennis courts, a FULL size (regulation) outdoor basketball court, a playground for the kids, with swings, slides, monkey bars, and all the other goodies! The park is entirely encircled by a walking trail for staying active and watching the action at the same time! This park rarely seems full — even when it is busy! One of Lexington’s hidden 💎’s of parks!
