If you’re searching for a welcoming dog park in Lexington, Kentucky, Ecton Park offers a lovely green space to enjoy time with your furry companion. This neighborhood park is located in a peaceful area and is known for its mature shade trees, making it a cool retreat during hot Kentucky summers. While not a traditional dog park with fenced, off-leash sections, leashed dogs are welcome to join their owners as they explore the open green spaces, walking areas, and enjoy the community atmosphere.
Ecton Park stands out for its family-friendly amenities, including a playground with slides and swings, tennis and basketball courts, a baseball field, covered shelters for picnics or gatherings, and clean, accessible restrooms. Its proximity to residential neighborhoods also means there are plenty of local dog lovers who frequent the park, offering a social environment for owners and pets alike. The park is wheelchair accessible, has options for shade, and picnic tables for relaxing while your dog enjoys the outdoors.
We enjoyed a park day with my sons school here for the last week of school. The park was inviting, clean & had beautiful shade trees. I was able to set up a face painting area for all the kids to enjoy. 🙂
Love this park it’s close to my house. There are typically baseball games going on which is not normally a problem for us. People like to bring their pets which is great I have no issue with that. There are tennis courts as well as a shelter it is a cute park
I love the location of this park. It’s very close to our home, which makes it a convenient place to stop when my kids need to get their energy out. It isn’t a big park, but that isn’t a big deal. It is surrounded by a nice neighborhood, so you’ll see lots of neighborhood kids hanging out.
Lived in Lexington for over 20 years and never been to this park. Watched a jazz band live. Great experience and nice little neighborhood park.
Wonderful little park. FEATURES: playground (with a little house, climbing wall, swings for babies and big kids, double slide, tube slide, fireman’s pole), covered shelter, indoor restroom with changing table, half basketball court, multiple tennis courts, baseball field, and lots of mature trees. When we visited in October the table by the playground was broken (missing the entire top). Seems like a nice area and fairly clean.
