How is it that the community center is never open for the community here at the park? I’ve lived in the neighborhood and used the park for over ten years and been inside of it once. The AC was running hard at 65 deg, nice bathrooms, a kitchen… For who???? What a waste of city money, our money. We get to use the overflowing port o johns when it’s 95 deg outside. Gross.
Amazing venue for intimate indoor workshop gatherings. Intimate parties. Because it is in a park the outdoor capabilities are endless.
3.5 stars. Large green areas and park located in older and somewhat grittier but artsy? side of Lexington as I enjoyed many awesome murals on buildings as I made my way there scattered amongst the bordered up ones. Has several roller hockey rinks in decent shape, basketball court, baseball ans soccer shared field, and playground. Has a thriving biking community with trails located around and lots of bike shops it seems. Trash was found in some areas of the park. Large trees provided lots of shade in some areas.
Its a pretty decent park. Easy to get to, easy to watch the kids. Its not near the road so if they do run off you can catch them pretty quick. Clean nice equipment. My kids love it.
