I’ll admit it’s a nice trail if people would clean up after themselves the amount of respect and care that is show by the people that walk the trail is absurd. Just beware of random dog poop bags strewn about and you’ll be fine.

Lots of good shade and even a tunnel this is a fun and short trail. It’s flat and easy so it’s good for anyone. You can also walk to the Union Canal Park from it easily. There are two exits to the park that are marked. The one closest to the parking lot is easier and shorter.

An awesome stretch of rail trail

Recently opened portion of the Rail trail. At this time it runs from 25th street to long lane. The walk is about 1.75 miles, and 3.5 round trip. Portions of the path are paved but eventually turn into the fine gravel most are known for. The cool feature of this part of the Rail trail is the bridge that was constructed under tunnel hill road. It has automatic lights that sense when someone enters the tunnel, and also has a set of cameras to provide a level of security. Further down the trail is a union canal lock in the woods. It is heavily vegetated right now, but there does seem to be future plans to clear cut that. Overall a good walking experience.
