🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Located in the heart of Laveen Village, Cesar Chavez Dog Park is a favorite destination for dog lovers seeking a large, friendly, and accessible dog park in Arizona. This park stands out with its spacious, well-gated areas—offering ample room for both big and small dogs to run and play. Pet owners love the division between sections for small and large dogs, ensuring safety and fun for all furry visitors. The park is also wheelchair accessible, making it a welcoming spot for everyone.
On top of its roomy dog runs, Cesar Chavez Park provides amenities like a water fountain for dogs, picnic areas for humans, playgrounds, and restrooms. While the grassy areas are expansive, be mindful that the grass maintenance and bag stations aren’t always consistent—bringing your own supplies is a smart move. Featuring plenty of seating, evening lighting, and a friendly local vibe, this dog park is perfect for letting your pup get their zoomies out or relaxing while they play.
My dog loves it here, but it does sometimes get muddy. Divided between big and small dogs. Beware of the shared water fountain…my dog got giardia from it
Very accessible and friendly. People are good about picking up after their dogs. Only issue is they really dont stock up the bags very often so make sure to brring your own. The grass isnt very well maintained either but other than that, its well gated, secure, lit, safe, and huge enough to let the dogs get the zoomies out. They even have separate areas for big and small dogs. Its perfect.
It’s a great place. They got two paddocks side-by-side for the dogs. Tons of space for them to run around and seating for your bum while they do it. They seemed to stop the nightly overwatering, so there isn’t a mud and puddle problem anymore. Parking on Thursday through Saturday night can get a little crazy with all the soccer games or if the high school is having a football game. It’s a good park and good people bring their dogs.
2 big large areas for small and big dogs.
It was my first time here taking the dogs. Overall, it was a great place for the dogs to run around.
I’ve gone a couple more times. You’ll need to have bags on hand since there are never bags or rake/dustpan to pick up after your dog. Not manny people are prepared and there is a lot of dog waste all over.
Very spacious. Has a picnic area for humans and dog water fountain. You have regulars that come here, everyone is very friendly and the dogs are for the most part well behaved. Uncivilized dogs are not welcomed.
