Karl H. Dixon Memorial Park At Boyd’s Mill Pond is a scenic, dog-friendly spot in Laurens, South Carolina, perfect for locals looking for outdoor recreation. The park features pet-friendly trails that loop down to the pond, making it ideal for dog walks, as well as open fields and easy-access paths that both owners and pets can enjoy together. While not a traditional dog park with off-leash or fenced-in areas, it provides a serene setting for on-leash strolls, picnics, and waterfront activities.
This community park is well-known for its covered picnic pavilion, restrooms, small playground for children, and a beautiful pond featuring a dock and boat ramp, making it a great destination for families and pet owners alike. Shaded areas and seating are available so you can relax while your dog enjoys the natural surroundings. However, please note that while the park is regularly visited, some users have commented on periodic litter, especially near the pond’s shores, so be mindful to keep the park clean for everyone to enjoy.
Nice little playground with bathroom facility. Pretty little walking trail loop down to the pond. I was surprised at the trash. It amazes me that there are grown adults walking around that don’t know how to clean up after themselves. There is a little covered picnic area near the playground.
The areas of the pond we saw weren’t too nasty. Water was shallow so even kayaks and small boats have issues. And the amount of trash out on the shores of the pond (not at the park) was substantial. This pond is filthy.
Beautiful little spot! Nice dock, and boat ramp.
Quiet lovely little park with covered picnic table. Restroom has no sink and no running water at pavillion
Beautiful little park. Has restrooms, a small playground, a pavilion and tables, opened fields, and the cutest little trail to walk. Perfect for littles, has a hopscotch painted on the walk and sogns with different things to engage the kids. Or like me, it’s a nice dog walk. Follows the pond so you can see the water. Easy access. Pictures are of the trail.
Good place for kayaking and fishing. We used SUP boards. When we took out the boards from water they had greenish stains. We had to wash the board with soap. We saw multiple people fishing and kayaking.
