It’s clean beaches are beautiful. The water was Lil cold for me the other day. But no seaweed or broken shells.

Beautiful clean beaches. Explore beach #6, large, flat, empty., especially if you’re not going in over your knees. Lifeguards arrive at 10 on beach 1&2- and it gets markedly more crowded between 10 & 11 am.

You pay by the car load, which is cheaper than going to other beaches for just a day. We had great weather and the surf was perfect.
Island Beach used to have showers but they took them out. Which is unfortunate since going to the boards sticky a d sandy can be uncomfortable.
The Beach is always clean as you need to take out what you brought in.

As far as i am concerned it’s the best stretch of Jersey beach. You can enjoy it in so many ways. Please visit the park website if you want to know all the possibilities. I usually go bayside for kayaking and clamming. Cooling off with drinks under a Shibumi and swimming oceanside. When the wind is up, i would fly a kite. When it’s not too hot, i’d bike end to end along the main drag, and that’s about 17 miles round trip. All of the above for free because of my status as senior citizen. If you’re not, you may have to pay a small fee. Avoid weekends and holidays if you can, you’ll have most of the nice spots for yourself.
