Greenfield Park is a well-kept, family-friendly outdoor space located in the heart of Lancaster, PA. Known for its beautiful paved walking trails, unique sculptures, and wide array of recreational activities, it’s a popular spot for dog owners and families alike. The park boasts plenty of green space, big shade trees, and sun-dappled areas, making it a wonderful place for pet-friendly outings or a relaxing day outdoors. With trails just under a mile, you and your dog can enjoy dog-friendly hiking while taking in scenic views, local art, and the occasional wildlife sighting.
The park is especially notable for its clean grounds maintained by dedicated volunteers, covered pavilion for those who need to escape the sun, and doggy bag stations to help keep the pet-friendly trails tidy. Other amenities include playgrounds, sports courts, picnic areas, a small Frisbee golf course, and ample parking nearby. Seasonal events like Christmas in the Park and the Tomato Festival draw families year after year. While restrooms are available, note that they have limited hours and are typically open only during the summer, with a porta-potty in the off-season.
Gorgeous walking path with fun sculptures and a couple playgrounds. Nice pavilion and ponds.
This park has a beautifully paced out trail that equals to a little under a mile if you walk the whole thing. On your trail walk you will see awesome art and statues.
Gorgeous area, well kept, has lots of sunny areas but also many big shade trees around the perimeter. Too beautiful for words, feels like you are on someone’s estate !
I grew up in Lancaster in the ’90s, and as a kid my mother would drop me off here to play around the statues as she ran errands in the Corporate Center. I’m glad that little has changed over time, as a lot of the original sculptures are still here – in addition to some new artwork. The only drawback to this place is that due to expansion – such as the new hotels and shopping centers within proximity to the park – it’s a lot less quiet than what it was before, even after it gets dark. The park was still somewhat tranquil, but I’d occasionally hear the loud noise from someone’s car exhaust or stereo as they drove by.
Great park for walking/jogging. We brought our grandkids there to ride their bikes. The path is narrow. Small playground. The park is very clean but I did not see any restrooms.
