🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Located in the heart of Lancaster, PA, Beau’s Dream Dog Park offers a top-notch dog-friendly experience right at 901 Buchanan Ave. This dog park is renowned for its spacious play areas, beautiful artificial turf (no mud or grass troubles here!), and excellent maintenance, making it an inviting destination for both local dog owners and visitors seeking a clean, safe place for their furry friends to play off-leash.
Beau’s Dream Dog Park stands out with dedicated areas for small and large dogs, convenient water stations, plenty of seating, and a fully fenced perimeter. There’s great accessibility too, as the park offers wheelchair-friendly entrance and parking, plus it’s perfect for families with children. With free waste bags, multiple trash receptacles, and AstroTurf for an easy-clean environment, it’s one of the most pet-friendly parks in Lancaster—a must-visit for any dog lover.
The park is as good as the people are at several things: 1. cleaning up after your dog, which is a huge HINT here, more people need to observe and clean up their dog poop. 2. If you have a dog that exhibits aggressive behavior and SHE has a collar on which is the only way you control her, don’t bring her (who may or may not be named Dalilah) to the dog park. It’s unfair for all dogs including her. 3. If you have a humper, be on constant hump patrol. 4. This is a park that Lancaster City would love to wash their hands of, so basically this park belongs to all of the dog parents attending. There is 1 woman who tries to administer and 1 guy who maintains this park. So, we should all try to be good stewards of it to make it a model park that the City wants to use as a plus for bringing people into Lancaster, and also maybe throw some money at for much needed improvements.
I will now step off my soap box.
This dogs playground area is excellent! Very clean, features a fountain, and has artificial turf—perfect for pets. Highly recommended!
I was in Lancaster for the day with my dog (who love a good dog park) and found this place on Google Maps. We had a lovely time romping with some dogs. It looks like it must be a really fun place in the summer time. There is no grass or mud (all AstroTurf).
Great dog park, spacious play area, great seating to relax and converse with others as well. The clean up stations were filled and very helpful and water stations were fantastic. It would be nice if everyone would clean up after their dog but that’s not the case and it’s a real shame because having this park in our community is a great blessing. Other than that, an absolutely great dog park.
It’s a nice dog park. Some people need to pick up after their dogs as the park provides bags and trash receptacles. Also some dog owners need to use the correct size for their dogs to play in. We have small dogs, Hope (in Purple) and Gibbs (in Orange) loved being able to run and play.
