This is hands down the crown jewel of Lancaster, one of very few mountains in Ohio. Very nice short hike up the mountain, awesome views of town, the region and when conditions are just right you may even see downtown Columbus way off in the distance. If you are from out of town this spot is a must see.
The view at rising park’s Mr. Pleasant is my favorite in Ohio. One of the many entrances into Appalachia, the southwestern facing butte is a testimony to the Allegheny plateau topography.
This is a pretty steep walk with stone benches along the way. It seems due for some repairs, bout not in bad shape.
Beautiful view of Lancaster. It highlights all the trees in our city, I’ve always been proud of that. Bring food and take pictures or maybe a book.
There are light climbing trails on the face. A few very small caves and lots of little nooks.
No cost to visit, good parking and a steep but relatively short hike to the top. The view is amazing.
This is such an awesome park with wonderful views and a lovely wooded paths. It’s a real gem of a park. There is a lovely pond at the base with a legit playground.
