Nice quiet beach. The shore is full of rocks, shells, and some seaglass. I did not go in the water (i had on the wrong shoes) lots of rocks. Very calm water and shallow warer for a while.
Was a windy day, but a walk down the beach and back, was very relaxing.
Good parking lot. Lots of space to spread out on the rocky beach. The water is really clear and you can find a lot of treasures. A very peaceful and beautiful beach
This was the nicest, cleanest park! We loved it here, the facilities are excellent and very clean. And hot water for showers is a huge bonus. Showers can be a wait. Women’s bathrooms can be clogged up at times, I’ve never understood why women feel the need for makeup while camping 🤣🤣. I highly recommend staying here. Make sure all of the food and even your condiments, including peanut butter. We walked back to camp, and there was a squirrel straddling the jar just chewing away. The little maurader just lifted their head and looked at me 🤣🤣
Another beautiful beach in the coastal area of Maine! The water is a beautiful clear blue, the sand is soft with a few rocks. Those that are tender footed,might want to wear water shoes. Great grassy area with nice picnic tables for those that want to bring lunch and a family or alone. It is a pet friendly beach, as long as they are on a leash. Not too big of crowds, plenty of parking spaces. So bring a book, and 🏖️ beach umbrella, your favorite chair or towel. And enjoy the beach, the sounds of the waves. And have a great day in the sun on a Maine beach! 😁
Wonderful hike. Took 3 kids with ranging in age from 2 to 5. Lots of little hills and up/downs but moderate overall. Large connecting trail system so definitely make somewhat of a plan before wandering down random trails. Signs at various intersections with trail names and random map postings along the way to be helpful. Some truly wonderful views tucked in. Lots of various beautiful moss can be found here as well. Definitely would recommend. There is a small 3-4 car parking lot at this spot but various other parking lots nearby with connecting trails so plenty of other hike options nearby if this lot happens to be full.
Nice secluded hiking area.multiple parking places in three lots. Well maintained trails. The only issue is the there is no reference to the various shape and color blazes on the very good maps. Caused me to miss a trail and have to backtrack. Needs to be added. There was also some blowdowns that needs to be cleaned up. Overall a very interesting area.
I hike here a couple of times a year maybe and very much enjoy the area and trails connecting to other parcels. Did you know you can get to the Sunrise Trail from here? You can! On my recent visit I was picking Huckleberry and Blueberry with an FBC sponsored event. Picking was quite good, but please remember to stay on the trails. Dogs are allowed and often found off leash here – check the FBC website for rules.
