The Bark Park is a outstanding place to take your companion to. Safe and secure for your love ones to run around and play with other companions. Like a great amusement park for all dogs they even have a swimming area for warm summer days to cool off in. If you have a lad under 15 pounds there is an area as well for them to run around in. Clean as well.
Great place to socialize your dog and let it stretch its legs off leash. Very well maintained. Multiple sections for both large and small dogs to keep them separate. Swimming area with a dock. Trails in the back for on leash walking, jogging, biking… Best days are when all park goers pay attention to posted guidelines keeping all safe and happy 😊
Orion Oaks County Park is an oasis of nature amidst suburbia! It is a great place to walk, hike, run etc. and the dog park is a fun addition to the NE corner if you have doggos that like to get outside. The park has quite a bit of diversity from open prairies to mixed deciduous mesic woodlands and a lake. Highly recommended!
Unsafe and Disrespectful Encounter — Park Management Must Enforce Leash Rules. I generally enjoy walking in this park and visit it often. However, I’ve noticed a recurring and concerning issue: many dog owners do not leash their dogs, even in areas where leashing is clearly required.
Today, I had an upsetting and frankly unsafe experience. On the path leading to Trail Stop 4 — outside the designated dog park — a man allowed his large dog to run freely without a leash. I stopped to give him a chance to leash the dog, but he made no effort to do so, even as his dog explored the bushes and moved toward me. I politely asked him to put the leash on. He ignored me. As the dog approached me, I shouted more firmly, and still, he did nothing.
The dog eventually charged toward me. I was frightened, and the owner continued to walk slowly, pretending to look at his phone. When I confronted him calmly and reminded him that dogs must be leashed here, his shocking reply was, “No, you need to be leashed!”
This behavior was not only irresponsible but also aggressive and intimidating. Dogs off-leash can be a danger and a source of distress to other park users, especially when their owners act with such disregard.
I strongly urge park management to enforce leash rules more rigorously and to ensure all visitors feel safe while enjoying public spaces.
Great trails for walking, running, or biking! The trails are clean and well maintained. There are port-o-potties at each parking area. They have paper maps for you to take, as well as maps at each trail marker. All the trails are very well marked. The park rangers are friendly and helpful as well.
