Located in the heart of Kosse, TX, Kosse City Park is a charming spot for families, pet owners, and anyone seeking a peaceful day outdoors. Though it’s not a dedicated dog park, this pet-friendly park features open green spaces, shaded areas, and a scenic pond, making it a fun, relaxing destination for leashed dogs and their owners. The habitat around the pond supports local wildlife, and friendly ducks are a highlight for visitors—just remember to opt for healthy feed like cracked corn.
The park includes a playground with swings, slides, and even an old-fashioned spinner, perfect for kids. There’s a pavilion with multiple picnic tables offering covered shelter for gatherings or events, and public restrooms are available for your convenience. Kosse City Park is well-maintained with an emphasis on cleanliness, and it’s an excellent spot for catch-and-release fishing, with catfish, bass, and panfish reported in the waters. Whether you’re stopping by for a quick walk, a family outing, or a relaxing picnic, the park provides a tranquil setting unique to Kosse, TX, and welcomes respectful pet owners looking for a dog-friendly escape.
Beautiful clean quiet park. Perfect place to take the kids. And new splash pad too. 4th of July is the best!
It’s an amazing little habitat for the wildlife around the pond, and there’s apparently some nice fishing to be done because I often see people casting out a line. Parents also bring out the kiddos to have a bit of fun catching fish, and that’s always nice to see. All fishing is catch and release with good bank access all around the perimeter of the pong. Also, the ducks are super funny, and a blast to feed. I suggest feeding cracked corn rather than bread as bread isn’t the best option for ducks. There is a great playground for the kiddos, a pavilion with multiple picnic tables, and access to bathrooms. If you do find yourself at the park, check out the large pieces of petrified wood at the road entrance the park! They’re so cool, and could be a nice spot for pictures. When leaving the park, be sure to pick up ALL trash you may be leaving behind. This is a home for many animals, so let’s try to keep it clean. There is a trash can at the pavilion, so take advantage of that. Most of all, have fun!
Stopped just off Hwy 7 between my moms and my mother-in-laws home to have a picnic with my mom. Ducks and flowers and time with mom. 😍
Fun little city park. It has a small pavilion, slide, monkey bars, and a sizable field for events. It also has a nice pond that, according to the signage, contains catfish, bass, and panfish. I made the drive up to Kosse for the Greyhound 5k this year and afterward was able to pull out 4 bass in a matter of 20 minutes, so the fishing seems to be very good. There is a variety of cover, water vegetation, and overhanging trees that on paper make this a promising fishery.
Park was nice and clean. It has a covered area for events and whatnot, and it also has two restrooms. Swings and an old fashioned spinner for the kids.
