Located at 103 Reservoir Ave, Wood Lake Park is a favorite spot for pet owners looking for a dog park in Johnston, Rhode Island. The park boasts a spacious, double-gated, and securely fenced dog run, providing a welcoming space for pups to play off-leash while their owners relax. With benches available and shady, wooded backgrounds, it’s easy to find a comfortable spot to watch your dog run and socialize. The park is also wheelchair accessible, making it convenient for everyone.
Visitors note that Wood Lake Park features walking paths and pet-friendly trails, all within walking distance of parking areas. There are two waste stations in the dog park, though they may occasionally run out of bags, so bringing your own is a good idea. For families, there’s a small playground nearby, as well as baseball and soccer fields, making this park a well-rounded destination for both pets and people. Restrooms and nearby public recreation areas further enhance the experience.
Lots of ball fields, a small playground and a dog run. Hiking is poor. Few trails that really don’t go anywhere and are poorly traveled. I was here in February
Perhaps hiking is better in the summer when water levels are lower
Great Park for Soccer Leagues and Walking,Running, Path..
Grass was cut at the dog park, nice big area to play. The pick up bag receptacle was empty, however.
It’s a great park. Always lots of softball and baseball games being played in summer. The dog park is decent and one of the only ones in the area. And lots of trails around the almy reservoir. No real loops though.
Dog park area is great. Nice and large, double gated. 2 waste stations with bags and benches to sit. Very quiet with wooded background and only a short walk from parking to dog area. Not many people use it currently so you might want to invite a friend or coordinate on the dog park’s facebook page for playtime with other puppy pals.
