The park was great, free parking. The playground was nice and huge. The kids (6,9,10) enjoyed it, the bathrooms were clean. The ferry to the statue of liberty was not far, 5 minute walk. It’s like airport security there, FYI. It was a great experience. I have always drove passed the statue of liberty but never visited it. I went in April, bring a jacket, it’s colder on the water.

We booked a ferry from here to visit Statue of Liberty. The ferry ride itself is around 15 to 20 minutes.
Liberty State Park is around an hour drive from NYC. It is such a beautiful park because the ferries from Battery Park, New York were sold out.
There is a 9/11 memorial located in the park called “Empty Sky”. It was dedicated to September 11 state’s victims who lost their lives at the World Trade Center attack on September 11 2001.
