Nice easy trail to walk on or ride your mountain bike. Lots of ppl with dogs on this trail. If you’re camping at the Jefferson campground, you can easily walk from the campground to this trailhead. The trail is almost all shaded by trees, which is nice if you have children or dogs.
You will have to pay NULL to enter this area, or NULL if you have an access pass with the NPS.
There is a restroom at the nearby campsite, but not at the trailhead.
What a beautiful trail this is. Gentle incline, not difficult at all. Runs along the creek for miles. The trailhead is in the Jefferson Creek Campground, where we camped the night before. The summit was gorgeous with a lot of wildflowers. We did a loop connecting with the Colorado trail on the way back down. Beautiful day in mid July.
Nice trail that wasn’t too crowded. Costs NULL for a day pass or NULL if you have a national park pass. My dog enjoyed the shade and having the creek right there for the majority of the hike. The intersection with the Colorado trail (about 4.6 miles in) provided some panoramic views of the surrounding peaks but in general, this trail is doesn’t have any particularly extraordinary features, just generally a serene experience.
