🐾 Kids at the Dog Park: Real Stories, Safety Risks & Smarter Solutions

Jamesville Beach Off Leash Dog Park offers a spacious and scenic playground for your pup, making it a must-visit dog park in Jamesville, New York. Spanning large open fields with plenty of natural beauty, it features pet-friendly hiking, accessible picnic tables, and a separate area from the main beach so dogs can play safely off-leash. The park is wheelchair accessible, includes public restrooms, and is noted for its clean, well-maintained grounds and fresh-cut grass.
Uniquely, this dog park includes access to trails and a stream, giving swimming opportunities for water-loving dogs. Poop bag disposal stations are available, and water is provided during warmer months. There’s ample space so you can keep your distance if desired, yet the community vibe is generally positive and welcoming. An entrance fee applies (free during the week), and there are recreational options like disc golf too!
A beautiful huge dog off area with fields, flowers and stream! Thankful for this great place!🙏
PS: park entrance 7$/ car.
At first seemed to be a great park, we started going in November. After our 2 most recent visits, I don’t think I’ll attend again. An older male dog was displaying rude behavior and humping my dog, owner wouldn’t correct it. Some dogs had no recall, and a scuffle occurred between a group of dogs. Great trails, but you can’t guarantee who will be there, so you will deal with bad actors. My dog has developed reactivity over the past 2 sessions after getting attacked. Cannot and will not go again
I cannot say enough about this park; you could come for a quick walk or stay for a couple of hours. The grass is always kept short, there are places for you to dispose of poo bags, the water is on in the warmer months in case you forget your own, and the dog park is separate from the beach area. There are different paths and water if your pup wants to take a swim too. We absolutely love this place!
Absolutely beautiful! There is so much room that you don’t need to be near others if you don’t want to. If you walk the entire trail you can end up near some water for your pups to play in. My guys loved it! Some locals informed me that you have to pay (NULL) to get into the park on the weekend, but it’s free during the week. There is also a disc golf coarse, so you can play while your pup is running around. We loved it!
Holy crap nothing could have prepared me for this delightfully chaotic off leash dog park. So far have encountered friendly and respectful walkers with their dogs. Someone said this place was like Disney Land for the dogs and I agree but with a Pirates of the Caribbean twist.
