This is a legendary park in south jamaica queens. From the early days with the dj in the park with music & cook outs,to the basketball games,PAL summer youth program.
Jamaica playground aka 40 park was the park to be at .If you grew up in the neighborhood you know what iam talking about.
Over the years the park is not the same high light it use to be ,but it still serves it purpose for the youth with basketball.And parents taking their children to the swings and play ground.
And that’s all that matters right now is helping the youth stay positive and giving them something positive to do in the south jamaica community.
Marconi Park is way better. It’s bigger, cleaner, has restrooms, and more seats to relax. The only reason I gave Jamaica Playground 3 stars is because it’s right across the street from where I live.
This is a beautiful playground with many amenities nearby. A fence surrounds the entire corner lot. Small children came to play here and mother’s and father come to relax and converse with one another. It is a very friendly neighborhood with people not only looking out for one a other but welcoming and enquiring about the welfare of newcomers too.
This is good park for children!
It’s a very suitable children’s park, brand new and clean. There are different zones depending on the age of your children. There’s also a fountain area that’s very popular in summer. The park isn’t very busy in the mornings, and a little more in the afternoons.
