Beautiful and historical landmark in Queens, I grew up in Jamaica Queens and I found out the history of this park and Rufus King Park is a wonderful place to touch base with American history and times of abolition. Highly recommend to come here, yes it’s a little bit ghetto, but there’s police unfortunately the park is a grounds where everyone and anyone is welcome and there’s a lot of people drinking and smoking there. If you have kids, however it’s still beautiful and it doesn’t take away from the park. If only people could respect Rufus King like he respected us. This place should be secret, not a lot of people in the world like him, and he should be remembered and proclaimed in our neighborhood.
Rufus King Park is a lovely green space with plenty of walking trails, picnic areas, and a playful atmosphere. While it’s not perfect (some areas could use more maintenance), the park’s natural beauty and peaceful vibe make it a great spot to escape the city hustle. It’s worth a visit, especially on a cloudy day!

Fab free concert in Jamaica, Queens at Rufus King Park. All day event from 2-9 with 4 different performing groups. Also, some vendors with art, jewelry books, designer style bags and clothing. It was a great day!
