I come here at least once a month or so with my dogs. There are plenty of trails to walk around, and we explore as much as we can during our hike through the nature preserve. We love it every time, plus there’s always so much to see once you’ve made it to the lookout spot.
My advice is to come early in the morning, though. Especially as it starts to heat up. And keep your eyes and ears open! Wild creatures live here! We’ve come across an eastern diamondback rattlesnake before who warned us with plenty of time to stay away, so we avoided him and gave him plenty of room to himself.
Last time, I managed to see a Roseate Spoonbill, which was super cool!
Super cool to see the coast guard and the tug boat pushing the barge.
Wonderful place, great for walks. A lot of shade and the trees are marvelous. Made it to the observation deck and was great. Definitely a new place discovered on my exploration of my home state.
Great place for Jogging, hiking, bicycling, and casual strolls. This area has a very calming atmosphere and a bit of character.

I enjoy it best during the late winter and early spring months due to the low humidity cool crisp air, and warm sunshine. It’s great in the summer too but wear lots of bugspray.
The little Cemetery is a must see!
Love these trails not a lot of roots. Bathrooms if you need.. It was very enlightening about a man named Willie Brown who wouldn’t sell his land. Could have gotten rich but instead donated it so we can all enjoy the nature. He had his cabin and lived off the land while he was alive with only a well for water and no electric. There is a small cemetery where he and family are buried too here. There is a trail in the same park Willie Brown trail. I believe the info said he died in 1973. So go enjoy what this man donated for us here today! Appreciate it 🙏 💯
