Perfect for those seeking tranquility, this park is a favorite for dog walking, fishing, and enjoying natural Florida landscapes. Its open grassy spaces are ideal for relaxing, playing frisbee, or sunbathing.
While this site offers picnic areas, clean restrooms, and easy river access, amenities remain simple—there are no fenced dog areas, benches, or playground equipment on-site. The park is stunning and we loved the long trails that were clearly marked. However, the ticks were absolutely vicious. Once we realized how insane the ticks were, we picked up the dogs until we got to the road, so we only hiked maybe 3/4 mile. We pulled at least ten ticks off the humans, then pulled at least 20 off the dogs each, then went straight to a dog wash station and spent over an hour washing/combing/removing at least another 15 ticks off each dog. If you choose to hike on the trails, wear appropriate gear and we’d recommend NOT bringing dogs.
