Ed Austin Refional Park is a massive space for some many different activities. There is a large walking path around the perimeter, disc golf course, basketball courts, two dog parks, playground, baseball fields, football fields, soccer fields and lots of open space for whatever activities you want. They also have a free 5k every Saturday at 7:30am.

A great spot for fishing enthusiasts, and also perfect for walking and relaxation. The atmosphere is peaceful, with nice seating areas to enjoy your time. Best of all, entrance is free

My son always has a great time at this park. However, public RR should be taken care of. Last time we stopped by approximately one week ago, we couldn’t even come into the bathroom because it was really filthy! Not to mention the intense odor of you already know. If you ever go to Ed Austin Park, always make sure you go potty before heading out. The park itself is nice and clean.

Way too many off leash dogs running around when there is literally a dog park here. It is unsafe. The park itself is great with a lot of shade and room to roam, but laws and park rules aren’t enforced.Update: 5/13/25Off-leash dogs are still an issue even after contacting the proper authorities. Be safe!

I was In town for work and decided to go by this place to get a little walking in and so glad i did. Close to the downtown area, yet you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere. Very quiet and beautiful area. Nice trails and boardwalk. I just wish ppl wouldn’t litter or spray paint signs. But that’s not the parks fault. Definitely recommend.

This is a huge park with lots to do! There are walking trails and a nice skate park, but we love the basketball courts. We recently celebrated our basketball team with a picnic in the park, but unfortunately one of the hoops on one of the four courts was broken. It was a holiday so the bathroom facilities were locked, so my only criticism would be that they need some facilities for those days when staff isn’t there. Generally it is a busy place with the baseball fields but there is plenty of space and parking to have a get together and enjoy the outdoors!

Beautiful nature gateway. Pretty small trail but very peaceful. Great to come here on a New Year’s Day walk. Sadly did not see much wild life but there are many informative signs of the wild life animals that do live in the salty marsh environment. It was my first time observing this type of environment. There is a main Island trail and on the side there are some observance spots as well.

It has a fantastic walking/running/biking trail. 1.75miles. It goes around the whole park. Very clean. The dog park is cute and completely gated for small and large dogs. There are lots of seating areas throughout and shade. The new playground is perfect for young children. It is also completely gated. Lots to do. Come check it out.

I’ve been coming to this park since 2020 when all of the gyms closed. It’s one of the best parks jacksonville has to offer for getting steps in, walking your pet, & meeting other pet parents here for fenced in play time with your dog off leash (in the shade!, that’s a huge help for the summer months)This park also includes a skate park, basketball court, disc golf, baseball grounds, water fountains along the perimeter walking trail, etc. I think one full lap around the trail is a little over 2 miles.I love bringing my dog here so we both can get our steps in for the day, but also for meeting up with other pet parents and their four legged family members in the park. There is so much room for the pets to run, plus it’s free! Poop bags, water, & trash cans are all provided. There are also picnic tables to sit on in the shared dog park. This is a great park to bring the whole family too.
