Nice park. Good size for big dogs, but they have already turned the water off even though it hasn’t gotten below 40° yet.

I went here today with my husky around 1700 but unfortunately nobody was around for him to play with. Everything was clean but I noticed there were zero poop bags in sight in any of the dispensers. Seeing that the park is right next to the public safety depot, you’d think this would be their shining beacon of what their city can take care of. Perhaps next visit will be more exciting and better stocked.

It could be a nice place. There are some nice shade trees. It has two separate areas. One for big dogs, and one for smaller dogs. The grass needs mowing, but maybe I just caught them on a bad day. Also, there are hidden holes (from digging dogs?) that you can’t see because of the tall grass. Bring your own water bowl for your dog. They have a large tub, but I wouldn’t trust the water thats’s been sitting in it for God knows how long. The covered “family” area has a small grill and a couple of picnic tables….covered in bird droppings. From the looks of it, they haven’t been washed in a long time. Not going to put a picture up, because it’s gross, but I’ll just say there wasn’t hardly a square inch that wasn’t bird poop. Of course, there was the evidence of lazy dog owners that don’t think THEY should clean up after their dog. Be careful were you, and your pet, step. It would be a two star review, but I give it three stars just because Jacksonville has the thoughtfulness of making a small area for furbabies. Some folks don’t have the luxury of a fenced in yard.

Other than standing water in some areas, this place was wonderful! Large gated areas for our dogs to run and play with obstacle courses if they wanted to do that. It is divided into larger and smaller dogs. We kept ours together. The water tubs were dirty.

My dog loves to go to the park and run. The only bad parts about it are we have to go home, the grass doesn’t always get mowed, and they run out of poop bags.
