Discover the hidden gem of Jackson Township with Bunker Hill Bogs Recreation Area, an ideal spot for pet owners and outdoor enthusiasts alike. Located at 820 E Veterans Hwy, this park features dog-friendly hiking trails that wind through scenic landscapes, including lake views and wildlife sightings. Dogs are welcome throughout the park, making it a local favorite for pet-friendly walks away from the busy city life.
Bunker Hill Bogs stands out for its peaceful atmosphere, pet-friendly trails, and combination of natural beauty and recreational paths. While the main paths are shared with horses (note there may be horse manure), offshoot trails add extra adventure, though visitors should check for ticks afterward. Be prepared for some muddy spots after rain, wear appropriate footwear, and bring water for longer hikes. The park is also a great escape for families with children, especially those over age four, but offers limited amenities beyond nature itself.
It’s a beautiful walk away from the hustle and bustle. Unfortunately lots and lots of horse manure on the main walking path. Wear old sneakers
And if you walk on one of the smaller ‘offshoot’ paths, check for ticks afterwards.
Simple short walk and lake views. horses to
Purple heart trail did not disappoint. It has a sandy trail that’s shared with horses. The view of the lake from several vantage points including a raised platform is great. There are several off shoots to make ur walk even longer. Tons of wildlife in the area.
Nice walking paths, however some areas are not passable without going thru mud.
A great and quiet place in the middle of Jackson. Nothing for infants or toddlers. Anyone over 4 should enjoy the walk. If you want to do any of the complete circuits bring water and wear appropriate foot gear.
