Not the best park but , it’s not the worst either!! I have no complaints about it.. I go to Sykes Park to ride my 4 wheeler and dirt bikes.. it has a big enough field for that
Good quiet park. Usually a lot of older folks walking throughout the day. There is a park and a couple of baseball/football fields on the other side of the trail. Don’t think the restrooms have been open since COVID so maybe go before you come.
Park isn’t maintained. No bathroom access. Potholes on the trails. Large limbs and trash on the ground of trail inside and out! There is a powerline that has been hanging to the ground for over 5 years! Poor decision to put a wooden fence up. The fence is broken down and the front of the fence is completely missing. Some of lighting on the trail are out. This park and trail and highly used by the community. It is a shame there is no investment in South Jackson.
One of the slides is damaged pretty badly. Trash everywhere. Cleaned up the playground area while I was here so kids wouldnt be playing with a bunch of trash laying around.
I’m visiting in Mississippi and looking for a place not far away to walk my dog. This was the closest park. It has no trails or walking path. There are big fields where it appears people once played baseball or soccer or football. It has been recently mowed, but the park is in poor condition. The playground equipment appears to be okay. Tennis courts have nets in okay condition. I passed two falling down bridges. It appears the restroom and water do not work.
