Harper Park, located on Bayard St in Ionia, is a pet-friendly community destination offering amenities for families—with a special welcome to dogs and their owners. Known for its wheelchair-accessible entrances and parking, the park was recently updated with new playground equipment, improved seating, updated parking lots, a pavilion, and newly constructed paved paths, making it an accessible and comfortable spot for everyone.
Dog lovers in Ionia will appreciate that Harper Park welcomes leashed dogs, making it an excellent location for on-leash walks and picnics in designated areas. The park also features a large open field, picnic tables (perfect for gatherings), and accessible pathways, ideal for an afternoon stroll with your pup or family outing. Children will enjoy the playground and sports areas, and there is ample shade and covered shelter in the pavilion, creating a great setting for multi-generational fun.
Walked up and found several used needles on the ground and picinic table. Not a place were my kids will ever go back to. Imagine all the used needles in the dirt or play area. Poor kids are losing there fun over a bunch of junkies. Wake the hell up people its not a disease its government controlled drug issue and your all supporting it
The park is pretty clean, it has a pavilion area with picnic tables and nice play equipment for kids. There’s some graffiti, but not a ton. There also a large field area for baseball/kickball.
Great place to take children!! Just wish they had more equipment for younger children.
Very nice facility with a pavilion, playground, and ball field. It looks like it was recently updated and I would recommend this park for family events. The picnic tables are not new so I would recommend table clothes if hosting a party or having a picnic.
They recently added new equipment and upgraded existing seating, parking lot and pavilion. They added a new path and a portable bathroom.
