Beautiful place for hiking. Plenty of trails with a good workout. However, the trails are not marked very well. They do have a map posted here and there and occasional signs but that’s about it for trail markings.

I took my dog walking here a few times before it got cold this year. I really enjoyed the walks with her. It didn’t ever seem horribly wet out there even when I anticipated it would be. If you take some of the smaller trails, they can be poorly marked. I actually used Google maps to get me out the first time when I came to like a 4 way intersection and didn’t know which trail was which. It is a very beautiful place with lots of wildlife to see. I’d definitely take her back. I just wish there was more parking at the 12th street entrance. It seems as though it could fill up quick on a nice hot day.

Warning, Google maps tries to bring you to someone’s private property. I passed it and was like “that looks like it but it says I’m still several minutes away”… I had to make a u turn haha

The trail was well maintained while still being rustic and in nature. There’s even an occasional bench. It was a very pleasant experience. Saw a chipmunk and some robins.

There’s no trash cans so I recommend bringing a grocery bag with handles if you expect to have trash (like picking up after your dog) so you can carry it by your wrist.

The trail (obviously) gets muddy when it rains.

A very nice area to take a walk in the woods. Multiple trails to explore, take a long journey and do them all or just a short little outing, no matter your choice but will be a good one. I would suggest taking a photo of the trail map when you start out. Dogs are allowed on the trails. There is an old Quarry and even a lookout point. It’s a nice place to enjoy the day.

This park is truly a gem for Indiana. The trails are scenic and you’ll see plenty of wildlife along the trails. I’ve been to this park so many times while living in Indiana and every time walking the trails helps me relax and enjoy nature.
