There are also sports fields, a pavilion, shaded picnic spaces, and a scenic creek running nearby. If you’re looking for a dog-friendly park with lots to do in Indiana, Pennsylvania, Getty Heights Park is a top choice!
The playground is nice overall but it can be unsafe so I had to give just 3 stars. This playground has one slide in particular that on many occasions is being used in an unsafe way. Please see attached photo of one example. Also the kids can reach out over the slide at the top, and possibly fall. I seen a young boy attempt to look over it to wave to his assumed grandmother, and almost fell off of it. The slide is just too high, is part of the issue. I fear there will be injuries with this slide. A child slipped and almost fell backwards as he was climbing the steps part next to this slide. I am not sure why this part was even installed, it’s entirely too high and I fear a child will be injured if some have already not been. I think they should sauder it off at the steps and get rid of the open areas on the high part. Too many supervised monkeys running around, let alone the unsupervised!
Getty heights park is a great park especially on hotter summer days. It is one of the only parks with lots of shade. Is bathroom is a little farther away. But you go over a nice little wooden bridge to it. Has one pavilion and different picnic areas and benches. It has alot to do and even has volley ball nets in the back. Has a cute little crick to play in or take pictures near by. Overall a great park. Also has a baseball field and a dog park area as well if you have dogs.
This park is great. (When there are fewer people it’s better because there’s less chance of children fighting and causing an accident.)
The equipment is newer and taken care of. The entire play area is in the shade. Picnic tables are accessible and there is abundant parking.
Little playground park just for kids. The equipment seems newer and safe. I liked the bridge.
Nice little park to let the dog run around. Two separate fenced in dog areas to accommodate small and large dogs.
