We absolutely loved the campground. From the beach, ranger led activities to the baseball field. It was great! My one thing with kids is the speed limits that very few follow. It was 10 speed limit but some were going 15-25 and unaware of any children at play. Like most people didn’t even see me tell them to slowdown. I had to have my kids put their bikes away because I didn’t feel it was safe unless I was with them while playing. We will definitely be back for the beach but not to camp unless speed signs are put up. Someone is going to get hurt or killed. I did speak with the ranger at the front desk about my concerns. Put up speed signs asap! People are driving way too fast in the campground!
We love Burt Lake! Nice beach, and there is a section for your dogs also. I wish they would update the bathrooms like other state parks. It would be nice to have individual showers, too. The lots are pretty big, and you can even park parallel to the road. I wish they had more signs with the posted speed limit. Too many people speed through the camping area. Even some of the Rangers on the john deers. It would be nice if they could make an actual park for the kids to play at. Just a couple of swings and an old-school metal slide that reaches the temperature of the sun on a hot day.
Very nice park. Our site was huge. The park was quite full but very quiet even with kids and dogs throughout . Burt Lake is beautiful. The water is clean and clean. Great for paddleboarding kayaking boating and fishing. Facilities are dates but clean. Saw the Ranger pass through 3 or more times a day. Great place will definitely go back. Also Sturgeon River is nearby as is Cross In The Woods.
Absolutely gorgeous! The views are amazing. Love watching the sunset over the lake. 24/7 firewood station is a plus too! It’s expensive but super convenient
Our campsite was within walking distance to the lake. Our dogs loved it! Very quiet and Family oriented campground.
