Pitcher Dog Park is a small park located in Independence, MO, that allows dogs but does not have a fully enclosed dog-specific fenced area. It features a small paved loop trail, picnic tables, benches, and a covered barbecue shelter. The park is wheelchair accessible and has trash bins but lacks dog-specific amenities such as dog water fountains and poop bags. The surrounding area includes some wooded trails and an historic cemetery, but visitors should be aware of the presence of homeless individuals and some trash issues. It can be suitable for quick walks and for dogs that are well-behaved off leash, though it is not a designated off-leash dog park.

Not fenced in, lots of homeless people, awfully shady

Trash everywhere and a lot of homeless with no proper fence. Would have been ok looking spot except the trash is all food, cigarettes, and alcohol: unsafe for dogs. Find a different place

It’s a small park with an historic cemetery on site. A couple of picnic tables and a few benches. Has a walk around track (small). I enjoy taking my dog there for quick walks. Homeless have strong presence but seem safe. I’ve never had a problem.

It’s a park that allows dogs. There is no fenced in area and people drive by pretty fast. There is a fence between the road and park, but its not closed off. Has a small paved loop. There are trails through the woods but it looks like people live there and/or dump trash.

The park has a fence. But it is not a dog park. There is an asphalt trail with a couple of benches. The perimeter is not entirely fenced in which means the dog could walk onto the road or into the wooded area. There is a trash bin, but no doggy bags. There is a fountain where people can drink but not anything for dogs. There is a covered barbecue area with some benches. A few trees some nice grass. If your dog is good off leash, this might be OK but I wouldn’t call it a dog park.
