I participated in one of Ian’s training programs and was incredibly happy with the results. Meeting 1-on-1 with Ian in his space was beyond helpful and allowed me to practice specific scenarios with my dog. There were also a ton of resources/videos/articles made available to program participants that helped immensely. I highly recommend Ian and his team!

Ian and crew are the best there is. They are welcoming, understanding, and knowledgeable when it comes to anything dog related. They are incredibly professional and seek to help you and your dog out at any possible opportunity. There’s a reason so many people in Vermont recommend them.

I hired Ian as a consultant in July, of 2019, to come to Ohio to work with my new staff, at my facility that I had recently opened. I have been training dogs for over 6 years, and boarding dogs for 2 years, and when I finally accomplished opening up my boarding, training, daycare, grooming and classes facility in the spring of 2019, I knew Ian could bring his expertise and working knowledge to my new staff about how to run a safe daycare for dogs.Ian spent 4 days with us, utilizing his knowledge of dogs, and his understanding of how to properly socialize dogs, to demonstrate and implement a quality, safe socializing protocol. We were able to run through many different scenarios, with different dog temperaments, and dogs with different degrees of training, to allow all employees to get some hands-on learning. Ian was able to walk in and evaluate immediately which dogs would be best served as the core, daycare dogs. Once we established which dogs were the foundation dogs, staff members were able to bring in individual dogs to assess social skills. Each staff member received invaluable information and experiences, thanks to Ian’s calm, purposeful leadership. As the owner, Ian provided critical information based on his vast experiences, that I am now using to run a fast growing, daycare facility. Ian’s patient, perceptive nature, allowed everyone to feel safe about asking questions, and also how to make changes without feeling embarrassed. Ian assisted with more efficient scheduling of employees, what types of information are vital when new clients call, better communication among staff members, and how to run a daycare smoothly. He also still provides guidance when needed when I reach out to him. He is approachable, tactful, understanding and compassionate, making him an amazing mentor!! I highly recommend Ian for any new OR established business owner!Rosanne Eigel/The Calm Companion K9 Training

Ian and his staff have helped our 7 month pup so much. He goes 3 days a week for daycare. We started going un March and so far we have seen a huge difference in our pups behavior at home. He is much calmer and doesnt get into as much trouble at home. Serena has also been a huge help for us as we are first time dog owners and have no CLUE about effective training. Highly recommend them for daycare!

I just had the best walk ever with my 10 month old husky, Freya!! No pulling (normally I expect a dislocated shoulder)!! She was responsive and doing check-ins with me throughout. I learned so much during our take-home session and was so impressed with how quickly she moved from a talkative wriggling puppy to a calm and attentive dog.Freya was in a board and train that was graciously extended to ensure ample time to let the lessons work their magic. I think this will be so beneficial for her in the long run.Ian and the entire staff are great with questions. The “Ask a dog trainer” and “Complicated canine” live videos are ones I cannot stop recommending to my canine-owning friends. I have learned so much watching them. The training is just as much for her as it is for me and my husband. We certainly have our work cut out for us over the next thirty days but we are committed to continuing the framework Ian and his crew have instilled. They’ve provided great resources for us too! I’ve made a little calendar for all our activities. I am excited to work with her and progress in time for our two week check-in. Thank you!!! 🙂
